Wedding Candle Centerpiece

Weddings are generally very expensive events, but some of this expense can be reduced by using wedding candle centerpieces. Candles can be elegant and appealing and are a simple, yet inexpensive way to enhance your wedding day, leaving you with a good feeling while not emptying your bank account!

Now flower arrangements are often used as centerpieces, but by adding a candle to a flower arrangement, or by choosing candles instead, you can create an elegant centerpiece. By adding ribbons, colored rocks, or glass beads, you can easily create a centerpiece, or you can place some floating candles in a bowl of water (clear or colored). Simple but elegant, and these centerpieces have added  advantage that they can be made well ahead of the wedding day, whereas flower arrangements have to be made at the last minute. Candles can thus remove one source of stress!

Now it is possible to use aromatherapy candles with a calming scented oil, but you might want to reconsider. Why? In these days of so many people suffering from allergies to various things, and keeping in mind that people do like to wear perfume when they go out, then there is a good chance that your reception room will be filled with many different scents. It might be an idea to refrain from introducing even more! And it'll be cheaper too if you just get unscented candles!

Candlelight is romantic and by using a candle centerpiece on each table at your wedding reception, you can easily add to the glow of any room. The candle arrangement does not need to be enormous, but it does need to be noticed. You need to take care with the wedding centerpiece to make sure that it does not take up too large an area of the table, and that it does not hinder conversation by being too tall and blocking guests from one another.

Floating Candles for a wedding centerpeice

Of course, your candle centerpiece doesn't have to be just one candle. It could be a group of 3 or 4 or even more grouped together or apart. The options you have for your wedding table centerpeices are unlimited, and I love the fact that they do not have to be expensive creations, and that they can be made by yourself or as a fun group activity.

And of course, there will need to be safety precautions. Make sure that there is nothing that will be close to the flame of the candle to burn and cause a fire. Also, make sure that the arrangements are stable and not able to tilt, even if knocked accidentally. The taller an arrangement is the easier it could be knocked over if guests are passing say, the salt to one another, so make sure the base is wide and solid. In some ways floating candles could be your best option, as the candles float in water, so water is available in case you need to dowse the flames! Also by using a wide shallow dish, all your guests will easily be able to see one another to hold conversations.

Once your wedding is over, your guests may like to take these candle centerpieces home as a keepsake of your wedding day. Every one loves candles, and they are great to have in case of emergency powercuts, or just for a romantic evening at home!
